Sunday, July 30, 2006 ::: "Workers can only get $1.75 out of a shirt of retail price $100". And this, is quoted from my friend Lowell's journal after his journey to Cambodia. I know there are too many workers in developing countries being exploited, but the figures just send shivers down my spine. That means that when I buy a $200 shirt from Polo, the money that lands to the hands of the worker who actually made it is not even enough to get a can of coke in Hong Kong. And of course, you already know workers who work for Coca Cola Co. are being exploited just the same. While all the bosses of these corporates just sit on their fat ass and see the figures in their bank account grow. Suddenly, it's almost like a crime for execs to live in such luxury and fly business class, when you know that workers in Cambodia, after working their asses off for an entire life, can't even afford a business class air ticket to anywhere.
